Hey there, fitness and tech enthusiasts! I've got a real eye-opener for you today. The Apple Watch SE 3 just gave the flagship Series 11 a run for its money! But here's where it gets controversial...
We all know the Apple Watch 11 and SE 3 are top-notch smartwatches, right? Well, I decided to put them to the test with a simple walk, and the results might just surprise you.
First, let's quickly compare these two Apple powerhouses. The Series 11, starting at $399, offers advanced fitness tracking, a brighter screen, and longer battery life. Meanwhile, the SE 3, starting at $249, provides most of the same features, just without hypertension alerts, ECG readings, and SpO2 measurements.
When it comes to fitness tracking, both watches offer the same tracking modes and post-workout data. While the Series 11 has a more advanced heart sensor, they both use similar GPS antennas.
So, I decided to take these babies for a walk. I strapped on the SE 3 on one wrist and the Series 11 on the other, and off I went. I manually counted my steps, and for distance, climb, and pace, I used Strava on my phone.
And this is the part most people miss: the SE 3 absolutely nailed my step count! It was spot-on at 5,500 steps, while the Series 11 was just 33 steps off. Strava's count was even closer, at 5,502 steps.
But here's where it gets interesting. Strava noted a longer distance and less elevation gain compared to the Apple Watches. The Series 11 overcounted elevation by 87 feet, and the SE 3 by a whopping 114 feet! Strava's pace was also quicker, about a minute faster than the Series 11 and a minute and a half faster than the SE 3.
However, both Apple Watches performed equally well when it came to heart rate and calorie burn measurements. And get this, they used the same amount of battery power, just 2%, to track my 52-minute walk!
So, the winner of this walk test is... the Apple Watch SE 3! It might not have all the fancy features of the Series 11, but it sure held its own.
What do you think? Should I put other smartwatches to the test? I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions in the comments. Until next time, keep those steps up and stay tuned for more tech-fitness adventures!
