Hearty Southern comfort food in a casual environment with signature apple fritters.

So many people recommended this restaurant (really the whole Apple Barn campus) & I’m so glad we went! If you like home cooking, this is the place for you! Complimentary apple fritters with apple butter & Apple Juleps are provided when you are seated. Variety of entrees, side dishes & desserts. My husband and I both had the sampler with fried chicken, chicken pot pie, & chicken and dumplings. Everything was delicious. The meal also comes with a choice of soup or wedge saladand dessert. So. Much. Food. You also can’t beat the price. Service was great. Just felt very homey.

Decent restaurant with a homey feel. Our server, Irene, was very kind and attentive. Each meal is served with an apple julep, apple fritters, and your choice of vegetable soup or broccoli cheddar. The soup was pretty good and for my meal I got the sampler trio which came with dumplings, pot pie and fried chicken. I wasn’t a huge fan of the pot pie but the dumplings and fried chicken were both enjoyable. There’s plenty to do outside of the restaurant as well such as cider tastings , wine tastings, and shops to make it a fun addition to your day as well.

This was our first time traveling for Thanksgiving. We did our research and the reviews on the Apple Barn were good so we made a 4:15pm reservation. We arrived 15 minutes early and were told they were running an hour behind. We understood but the sun was going down and it was getting cold so a text would have been appreciated. We walked over to the shops to waste time and had a cider. Something to note, all the shops were closed except this one. The owners were very nice and helpful. When we were finally texted our table was ready, we went in and were taken to a table for 6-8. We were a table of 10. There was no way to fit us all at this table. Also, the table was right next to the back door where the patio servers and patrons came through giving us a long blast of cold air and making us move our chairs so they could get by. We ended up pulling a four top over to the other table. The staff didn't help with this or wipe off the table for us. Our waitress was unfriendly and unhelpful the entire time we were there. Her gratuity was auto added to the bill so there was that. Dinner started with apple fritters and juice which were very good and vegetable soup that was OK but nothing to write home about. Dinner consisted of turkey, roast, ham, corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, rolls, and small sauce containers of cranberry sauce. The sides are served in very small bowls that didn't feed half the table much less a table of 10. The taste of most of the food was reminiscent of a cafeteria, bland and canned. The ham was the highlight for those who got some. The worst was the beef, unseasoned and over cooked, the sweet potato casserole which had the consistency of baby food, and the gravy which we waited 15 minutes to get because they didn't give enough when they served us. The dessert options were pumpkin pie and apple cobbler with no ice cream. Whoever made those must love clove because the spices were so heavy no one ate their dessert! The bill was $443 for 10 people. We wouldn't have paid $100 for the food and the hospitality we received. Please think twice before eating here. If it was just one of us who was unhappy I'd understand that it was preference but all 10 of us agreed.

Excellent Experience! This location is the embodiment of southern cuisine. The food is rich in flavor and timelessly delicious. Eating here was a real pleasure, the environment was well loved, clean, and a slice of history. All meals are served with a glass of julep (spectacular), apple fritters with apple butter for a starter, your choice of soup, mashed potatoes, an additional side of your choosing, and a dessert. This is a ton of food for the price of the meal. I cannot wait to visit again next time I am in the area.

My favorite place! I will drive 5 1/2 hours one way just to eat here. The food is always amazing! The service is fast and friendly. Just recently we're driving back from Florida to Ohio after a cruise and took a detour to eat here. Even busy we were in and out in 45 min. The food was hot and fresh and oh so delicious!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about those apple fritters with apple butter and the apple julep! Yummy!

Nice service, cool place, nice views. Decent wait times. Once seated, we were given free fritter things w/ apple butter & a sampler of yummy juice. Food was good, but overuse of green peppers in the omelet, & my friend said the same for her loaded potatoes. Wouldn't be the one to recommend but would return.

The Apple Barn: More Than Just a RestaurantA lot of people mention the Apple Barn Farmhouse Kitchen, but when I bring up the bakery, most don’t even realize it’s there. The muffins at Apple Barn are top-notch. If you remember the blueberry muffins from Burning Bush, these are definitely on par.Apple Barn offers more than just food….they have a winery, cidery, bakery, creamery, general store, candy store, Christmas shop, and more. Their fried apple pie is incredible! A must see if you’re traveling to the Gatlinburg area.Just so you know, this isn’t a sponsored post. I was passing through and wanted to share my finds.

We have to stop here every time we come!!Who doesn’t love a good Apple Barn/ Applewood Farmhouse!?!I absolutely love their turkey and dressing! They really put the southern charm here. If you like country cooking, you have to try this place out! Also I love the birds, and the fruit tea, crazy combo, but it works here! 🐦

This is a must stop on your next trip to Sevierville. I usually say this at the end of my reviews, but, you get this first, then the food:DO NOT fear the wait if there is one, there is so much to do here. You can go to the Apple Barn next door and check out souvenirs, merchandise, or do (free) apple cider tastings or a longer paid tasting. They also have rocking chairs outside and an outdoor fire pit.My only request: I do wish they would extend the paging system to the other buildings. The food is delicious, and the portion sizes are really generous, the prices are great too. They start you with complimentary apple juleps and warm, fluffy, apple fritters and apple butter. We had: Nashville hot honey chicken Mac and cheese, chicken pot pie, and country fried steak. On top of two sides, they also give you a delicious potato soup with hearty pieces of potato. Everything was delicious, and we had no complaints! Staff is great, so friendly and accommodating.

The Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant is highly recommended. The cozy, homey atmosphere and friendly staff, who even offer recipes for their signature apple julep, create a welcoming dining experience. If deciding between Applewood and the Old Mill Restaurant for dinner, I suggest choosing Applewood - you'll enjoy their popular apple fritters and receive a free dessert. To fully experience the area, plan to arrive at least two hours before closing, as Applewood has additional attractions similar to the Old Mill!

This place is a MUST SEE for all tourists!!!!This entire place is so beautiful and well kept. All the staff here is very friendly. The wait staff was amazing. Our waitress was Kaitlyn and she was very sweet and took great care of us. We enjoyed the shops and the restaurant. Food is DELICIOUS!!!! Plan to spend a few hours here, there’s lots to see. You can put your name on the waitlist for the restaurant if they are busy and walk around and check out the shops and candy etc. They will text you when your table is ready and give you a 5 minute window to get back to the restaurant. We will def come here again anytime we are in the area!

I’ve been going here since I was like 5 or 6 and I’m 43. It’s not loved just because it’s nostalgic for me, but they actually have GREAT food, service is unsurpassed and kind, and the ambiance is like being in a breath of fresh air. You go from beautiful birds and the hearth in the entrance to porch swing seating that just adds a fun touch for the family. Don’t leave without having an apple julep, an apple fritter w/apple butter, and make sure and visit the barn and grab yourself some amazing apple butter. It keeps growing, so you have multiple options as far as the type of atmosphere you want and wait times. Even if you do have to wait, the property is beautiful!

We were heading out of town after being in Tennessee for a week.We were told this was a "must" to try. After eating garbage food most of the week, I was hoping for a down-home meal... for.me.it was just more of the same surgery, gut-bomb kinda food. The portions are huge. My daughter and I shared a plate, and we still didn't eat it all.The service was fine. The staff was mostly friendly. If you're in a hurry, I wouldn't recommend this place.

The food is just okay, their entree’s are usually fresh but lack a bit of seasoning and the sides are almost always bland. But there are some very good redeeming qualities. The apple fritters & cider that’s served with them is amazing & the chocolate cake is to die for. Service is always quick & friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

We tried this place for lunch on a Friday. It was busy but luckily there was no wait. Although they do have a nice wrap around porch with heaters if you do have to wait. Everyone was very pleasant. You start off with warm apple fritters with apple butter and an apple julep. All delicious! Everything we ate was delicious and had great portion sizes and plenty of sides to go with it, including vegetable or cheddar broccoli soup. Afterwards you can walk all off the calories at the shops.

So many great choices! Our sever was friendly and knowledgeable. The food came out fast and hot! They have little shops and a cider mill too. It’s a must see!

The hostess was very nice, but our waiter seemed to be struggling with something - she was very slow. I think they were short on help which may be why our food was luke warm to cold. Both of us had scrambled eggs, potatoes and meat. I ask for wheat toast but got white. Nonetheless, we’re thankful for our meal and the workers to serve it. We will probably be back at some point and time.

Service was fantastic, engaging, and funny. There are tables with porch swings for chairs inside, those look nice. They switch to lunch at 11, no breakfast options at that time. You get one basket of apple fritters with apple butter, which I think was the best part of lunch, they were great. You also get some juice. The trio was good, comes with a soup and 2 sides. The broccoli and cheese soup was excellent. I picked Mac n cheese and collard greens but got mashed potatoes instead. They were all good. The chicken n dumplings were above average, the chicken is at the bottom with dumplings on top. The rest was above average but did not blow me away.I don't think I would bother with the wait to eat lunch here again but I would definitely swing by for some apple fritters to go.

We love eating here! The food is always amazing. Sometimes, there is a long wait. But, it is totally worth it. We love the apple fritters. I would definitely recommend the chicken and dumplings on the lunch menu. The cheddar broccoli soup was just as good. This place never disappoints us. The staff is always friendly and fast. Stop by and get some great food.

I like how they served complementary mini apple fritters before your meal. They were good crispy and hot. I ordered the country fried chicken that came with eggs a biscuit gravy grits and potatoes. What I liked most about the meal was the potatoes, they were crispy and not greasy and not soggy like other places. The chicken was seasoned well and crispy. The eggs however were a little greasy. This is a cool place to eat and very inventive. Would return.

If visiting pigeon forge this place is a must. Get there early when they open. Line was already building before doors opened at 8am. The service was awesome. Really friendly. Food was wonderful & quick. Get ready to full your sweet tooth. The design of the restaurant was a little gimmicky but very family friendly. Very much worth it. We got the cinnamon roll French toast & blueberry pancakes.

Start out with addictive apple fritters & Applewood Julep juice. If you want an entertaining fun-filled dinner ask for the server named Jeremy. He's a hoot! Fantastic dinner & service!! Kinda glad we're only here for vacation. otherwise I'd be handing over my paycheck weekly to this wonderful restaurant.

Gabriel M — Google review

I have been to pigeon forge several times never even heard of this place. My boss told me about it so I decided to try it. The chicken was absolutely delicious the mashed potatoes was very good the apple fritters was delicious my wife enjoyed the fried okra my son had fried steak said it was delicious my other son had the turkey and stuffing he liked the turkey and said the stuffing was ok. Both sons enjoyed the macaroni. Apple butter is what set the apple fritters apart with out the apples butter would not have been no where near as good. The juice they give out before dinner was really good as well . Rose did a fabulous job . She was very friendly and professional she was really down to earth and very good at her job. I will definitely go here again when in town highly recommend this place. Unfortunately could not eat dessert had to take to go.

MUST. GO! Omg this was absolutely delicious. I truly felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. I had the fried chicken and my husband had the roast. Both were delicious. I had the veg soup and he had the broccoli cheddar and again another hit! We went with another couple. The wife got something similar to mine and her husband got the meatloaf and he was raving about it. Also the julep was very good. And then came desert TIME AND OMGGGG. So freaking good. We will be back next time we're in the area. We also recommend planning a time to check out the stores. We didn't realize how much there was to check out and ran out of time before our table was ready and then they closed by the time we were done eating and unfortunately this was one of our last stops for our trip. We liked what we saw! Can't wait to see more!

We ate here twice during our stay. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Our food and service both days were really good. You get Apple fritters and juice at the beginning of your meal and they bring it quickly and that is really nice! We were seated quickly both times and our food was brought to our table quickly both times. They are fast and friendly and we left feeling full and didn't feel like we wasted our money. Sweet tea is good. Plan to spend some time on their grounds. They have shops and ice cream and a really nice place to chill and have wine and cider tastings. Lots of homemade candies and fudge and fun candy for the kiddos! More to do here than just eat. We totally recommend!
